Jewellery Repair & Restoration

Bring out that special piece of jewellery that’s been in hibernation. If you have a Platinum, Gold or Silver piece that is in need of some TLC then let one of our professional jewellers restore it for you so you once again can wear it with pride. You can post your jewellery to our workshop and once received we would confirm safe receipt. Our workshop would then inspect your jewellery and we would report back with any issues that need addressing along with a fixed price and time estimate. Once your jewellery is ready we will either email you with a photo of the finished piece or call you to let you know. You are welcome to fill out our form prior to posting your item, however, if you wish to post it without filling out the form that is fine too.

What items can I have repaired?

We can repair rings, pendants, earrings, brooches, chains, bracelets – as long as they are made from Platinum, Gold or Silver. Examples of what repairs we carry out range from replacing a lost stone, affixing a new shank on a ring, soldering claws on a setting to replacing a catch on a damaged chain

How much does a repair cost?

Repairs vary according to what needs doing but start from just £30 for replacing a lost stone. We will contact you with a fixed price once the workshop has inspected the item.

How long does a repair take?

The time will vary depending on the complexity of the repair and depending on the workload of the workshop. Some repairs can be carried out in one day such as replacing a stone, however, others may take longer if more work is required such as repairing or replacing a setting  and then replacing stones. We aim to have a repair completed within 1 to 3 weeks.

What warranty do you offer on the repair?

We guarantee all our repairs for 6 months. Please note that any accidental damage or negligence is not covered by the guarantee (e.g. catching a claw that leads to a stone falling out)

How should I send my jewellery?

We always recommend sending your jewellery by Royal Mail Special Delivery so it is insured in transit. Be sure to insure your jewellery for the correct amount as there are different levels of cover. The lowest is £500.00 and the maximum compensation is £2500 (as of July 2022). You should send your jewellery to our workshop at the following address.

If you are in the process of moving home, please ensure you give us both addresses so we can add this to your repair file as we may need to send your repair to your new address if your repair takes longer that expected.

How do I pay for a repair?

Once your jewellery repair has been completed we will confirm by email or telephone and we will send you a link to pay online. If you prefer you can pay over the phone by calling 0800 6348570 or 01494 783699 or we can call you instead.

Can I get an estimate online?

We prefer to see your jewellery in person, however, we can give you a rough estimate by filling out the form. Please note that rough estimates are based on photos and may differ greatly from the fixed quote once the workshop has inspected your item as some issues cannot be assessed without seeing it in person.
